Some properties and chemical structure of phenolic resins and their derivatives

Abstract

Abstract Some physical and chemical properties of novolac and resole resins are described, IR spectra are given, and average structures of the examined resins are proposed. It was supposed that the gelation kinetics depend on the ratio of the reagents and on the structure of the resin.
