The frequent lack of agreement among psychiatrists as t o the correct diagnosis for a particular patient may be due to the present lack of standard, accurate diagnostic categories. We still do not have a precise, objective procedure for evaluation and diagnosis of psychiatric patients. Not only would this be of great value in itself, but it is a prerequisite for adequate evaluation of the present psychiatric nomenclature. This paper describes a n approach to developing such a system.
