Mn-doped ZnS quantum dots capped with 3-mercaptopropionic acid (MPA) were synthesized by a facile method in aqueous solution as a ratiometric fluorescent (<italic>I</italic><sub>590 nm</sub>/<italic>I</italic><sub>458 nm</sub>) probe for curcumin.
