Abstract A general method is described for the preparation of isoprenoid cyclic ethers by prototropic dehydration of the corresponding allyl‐l,7‐ or allyl‐l,6‐diols in the ally1 position. The formation of cyclic hydroxy ethers takes place from the corresponding epoxyallylalcohols by an analogous reaction.
