Fabrication of Bragg grating in chalcogenide glassfibre using the transverse holographic method

Abstract

The authors have fabricated an As2S3-based fibre Bragg grating for 1.55 µm wavelength operation by the transverse holographic method using an He-Ne laser. A reflectivity of > 90% was obtained at wavelengths around 1.55 µm. The grating has potential application in the dispersion compensation of As2S3.
