An experimental investigation of the optical properties of mid‐wave infrared (MWIR) InAs/GaSb type‐II superlattices (T2‐SLs) with different compositions is presented. The temperature‐dependent absorption spectra of MWIR T2‐SLs are extracted from optical transmission measurements. The results show that the optical properties in T2‐SLs are closely related to the composition of the superlattice. The absorption coefficient increases with increased temperature, due to bandgap narrowing. The influence of scattering/broadening on the shape of the absorption spectra is also discussed.
