Antiaromatic Compounds, 22 1 . – Trapping Reactions of an „in situ”︁ Generated Silene with Cyclic 1, 3‐Dienes The silene 2 – generated by thermolysis of the dimer 1 – is trapped with the azete 3 with formation of the pyrrole 6 , the structure of which is based on an X‐ray analysis. In contrast, 1,2,3,4,5‐pentamethylcyclopentadiene ( 9 ) and 1,3‐cyclohexadiene ( 10 ) add the same silene in a normal Diels‐Alder reaction leading to the bicyclic sila compounds 11 and 12 , respectively.
