The 1,177-day survival of a bilaterally nephrectomized dog with a renal allograft has been achieved by administering 30 mg prednisolone per day for 428 days. No further medication has been given during the next 749 days. The blood urea nitrogen has remained at a 33 mg/100 ml range since the medication was discontinued. The dog is very slowly rejecting this graft as is manifest by the development of membraneous glomerular nephritis. A second dog has survived on 30 mg prednisolone per day for 477 days. The combination of anti-metabolites and prednisolone therapy has given a modest prolongation of renal allograft survival.
