ARCOMAS of the skull are uncommon tumors that carry a bad prognosis. Although they grow rapidly, are treated with difficulty, and tend to recur promptly, aggressive surgery can restore an occasional patient to good health. In the present series of 14 patients operated on at The New York Hospital between the years 1944 and 1968, two continue to be relieved for more than 10 years. One of these to our knowledge is the first long-term survivor of an osteogenic sarcoma of the calvaria to be reported.
