Tractor Performance and Durability with Ethanol-Diesel Fuel

Abstract

ABSTRACT A15 percent ethanol-diesel blend was tested in a diesel tractor engine to determine its effect on engine per-formance and durability. This mixture had negligible in-fluence on basic engine performance, the difference be-ing comparable with that obtained through variation in climatic conditions. After operating the tractor under in-field conditions for alternate 100 h intervals totalling 2000 h on diesel and on the blend, no abnormal deterior-ation in engine condition could be detected.
