To improve reservoir monitoring and structural imaging, a permanent, multi‐component seismic array has been installed at the Valhall field in the North Sea. During the first half year of operation we have gained experience in recording different types of data, a baseline survey for 4D work has been acquired, and the first repeat survey is currently being shot. The results now starting to appear confirm that the system can provide high quality data. This initial period of operation also demonstrates how other activity on the field will affect the operations and thez results.
