Abstract

Synthesis of modified H2B: Semisynthetic modified histone proteins are valuable tools in epigenetic research. Here we describe a novel traceless ligation strategy for histone H2B that provides synthetic access to acetylated and phosphorylated analogues of the protein. These proteins were then applied to biochemical assays to highlight the potential shortcomings inherent in antibody-generated data sets.
