The Raman spectrum, including qualitative depolarizations of liquid vinyltrichlorosilane, and the infrared spectra of liquid and gaseous vinyltrichlorosilane have been obtained. The spectroscopic data indicate that the vinyltrichlorosilane molecule has Cs symmetry. An assignment of the observed frequencies has been made on the basis of this symmetry.
