ABSTRACT Aryl fluorides react rapidly with 2-butyn-1-ol and potassium t-butoxide in DMSO under microwave irradiation to give propargylic ethers. These ethers isomerize in situ to the corresponding allenyl ethers, which hydrolyze on work-up to give phenols in good yield.
