Use of a charged lidocaine derivative, tonicaine, for prolonged infiltration anesthesia☆

Abstract

Tonicaine is a substantially longer lasting local anesthetic with a delayed onset of action compared with lidocaine and may be useful in situations where long duration of infiltration block is desirable.
