Studies of Organosulfur Compounds. IX. The Preparation of Organometal IVb Esters of Aromatic Thio Acid

Abstract

Abstract It was found that the reactions of potassium salts of aromatic thio acid with chlorotrimethylsilane gave the corresponding thionoacyloxysilanes [ArC(S)OSi(CH3)3]. On the other hand, the reactions with chlorotrimethylgermanes or -stannane gave the corresponding thiol esters [ArC(O)SM(CH3)3, M: Ge, or Sn] containing the sulfur-metal (IVb) linkage in almost quantitative yields.
