Extracranial Arteriovenous Malformations: Natural Progression and Recurrence after Treatment

Abstract

Arteriovenous malformation is likely to progress before adulthood, particularly during adolescence, and usually reexpands following treatment. Resection (with or without embolization) for lower staged or localized arteriovenous malformation offers the best chance for long-term control.
