The pyrolysis of pinanes. V. The pyrolysis of 10α- and 10β-Pinan-2-ols and 2-Hydroxy-10β-pin-3-ene

Abstract

The gas-phase pyrolyses of 10a- (1) and 10ß-pinan-2-ol (2), and 2-hydroxy-10ß- pin-3-ene (17) are described. The effect of the introduction of a ?3 double bond on the course of the reaction and the mode of formation of the products is discussed.
