Pyrolysis

Pyrolysis is a thermochemical decomposition process in which organic material is broken down into volatile compounds, char, and gases through high-temperature treatment in the absence of oxygen, distinguishing it from combustion and gasification by its inert atmosphere and primary reliance on thermal cleavage of molecular bonds.
