A practically complete analysis of Pd I is given, based on previous analyses. The electron structures are ${d}^{10}$, ${\mathrm{d}}^{9}5s$, $6s$, $7s$ (part of) $8s$ (part of) ${d}^{8}{s}^{2}$ (incomplete) ${d}^{9}5p$, ${d}^{8}\mathrm{sp}$ and ${d}^{9}6p$ (parts of), ${d}^{9}5d$, ${d}^{9}6d$ (almost complete). The presence of an unidentified level ${k}_{1}$ is discussed and it is shown that the only explanation within the Hund theory is that ${k}_{1}$ is a hyperfine structure component of $5{d}^{3}{P}_{1}$. Such an assignment presents very great difficulties.
