Abstract

This study investigated the relationships among ethnicity, communication competency, and classroom success. The results indicated that Whites scored significantly higher than Asians, Blacks, and Hispanics on the Communication Competency Assessment Instrument. The CCAI correlated with final grades in an oral communication course. The cultural implications of the study are discussed.
