A new laser crystal Lu3Sc2Ga3O12:Nd3+ with ordered garnet structure is developed. Its stimulated emission at 1.0622 μm wavelength (4F3/2 → 4I11/2 generating channel) with laser-diode and Xe-flashlamp pumping at room temperature is excited. For prospecting spectroscopic and laser investigations with Nd3+ -ion doped crystals the detailed calculations of the full set of squared reduced-matrix elements for all 4f3 intermanifold J → J′ transitions with maximal energy till about 67000 cm−1 are performed.
