IN RECENT years cerebral angiography has been used extensively in the investigation of patients suffering from cerebrovascular and is now commonly used to select patients who may benefit from surgical treatment of stenosis of the carotid or cerebral arteries in their cervical course. In a study of the natural history of cerebrovascular disease, angiography has been performed in a number of patients. This communication examines the contribution made by angiography to the diagnostic problems of cerebrovascular and to the assessment of the prognosis. Method of Study The term ischemic cerebrovascular disease is used to describe patients with a history of an episode which, in its clinical content and subsequent course, was typical of cerebral ischemia and where massive cerebral hemorrhage or extraneous emboli from sources such as the heart have been excluded.
