Effective temperatures and gravities are determined for selected Ap, Am, and normal A-type stars and it is found that the colors are modified substantially by the presence of abnormally strong metallic lines. The gravities of all stars, with one exception, are those expected of main-sequence stars. The Am stars in the Hyades are systematically hotter than the corresponding normal stars.
