Abstract Optically active trans-2,3-bis(diphenylphosphino)-1-methyl-1-cyclopropanecarboxylic acid was synthesized from trans-1,2-bis(diphenylphosphinyl)ethene via resolution of the racemic diphosphine oxide. Asymmetric allylic alkylation of 2-cyclohexenyl acetate with l-menthyl sodiodiethylphosphonoacetate was achieved in good optical yields by the use of its palladium complex.
