Abstract

Food intake and body weights of sexed broiler chickens offered commercial diets were recorded weekly throughout a 70-day trial. Observations were made on 4 replicate pens of 15 birds for each sex. Each 7 days 5 birds of each sex, housed in comparable pens, were killed and numerous carcass and visceral chacteristics recorded. Carcass and visceral samples were analyzed for moisture, fat, and protein. The data are presented as a base for researchers concerned with model building and systems production.
