Generalized Cytomegalic Inclusion Disease after Renal Homotransplantation

Abstract

CYTOMEGALIC inclusion disease occurs infrequently in adults and is usually an incidental post-mortem finding.1 This report records the isolation of cytomegalovirus§ from an adult who died with generalized cytomegalic inclusion disease after receiving a renal homograft. The studies of Smith3 and Weller et al.4 established the association of this disease in young children with cytomegalovirus infection.
