Abstract

A rare case of hyperplastic gingivitis as a manifestation of Wegener's granulomatosis is presented. These lesions when present are pathognomonic and may be the patient's main complaint. The use of immunosuppressive drugs, particularly cyclophosphamide, have greatly enhanced prognosis, especially when treatment is started before renal involvement. The dentist may therefore be very influential in determining prognosis.
