We describe a procedure for calculating the residual resistivity of impurities in metals taking both the Bloch-wave character of the electronic states and the multiple scattering by the host lattice into account. The Boltzmann equation is solved for an anisotropic Fermi surface. For localised impurities the Boltzmann equation has a degenerate kernel and can be transformed into an inhomogeneous linear algebraic set of finite rank.
