Further examples of the transfer of singlet-state energy in aerated cyclohexane solutions at 25°C are given. Biacetyl fluorescence was sensitized using diethyl ketone, methyl ethyl ketone, cyclopentanone, chrysene, and phenanthrene. The transfer process is diffusionally controlled and the mechanism appears quite general. Conditions necessary for long-range dipole—dipole interaction are discussed.
