Abstract A compound C 5 H 14 ON 2 has been isolated as its dihydrochloride from both ferrioxamine B and ferrimycin A, by acid hydrolysis. It was identified as l‐amino‐5‐hydroxylamino‐pentane (II), and this structure confirmed by synthesis.
