Abstract

Abstract Increased amounts of cell membrane-bound IgG were found on erythrocytes of patients with Down's syndrome (DS) suggesting an accelerated rate of removal of these cells from the circulation. This could account for the features of apparently younger red cell population in DS, including non-specific increases in enzymatic activities.
