Remote gas sensing with mid-infra-red hollow waveguide

Abstract

Remote detection of ethylene has been demonstrated using infra-red hollow glass waveguides and a CO2 laser. By a method of intrinsic waveguide sensing, gas detection at ppm levels can be achieved.
