Abstract

SUMMARY Tecomella undulata (Smith) Seemann (Rohira) may become an important agroforestry tree in arid and semi-arid areas for the production of high quality timber in addition to fuelwood and fodder. It occurs naturally in desert areas of India, Pakistan and Arabia and is highly tolerant of drought conditions. The morphology, ecology, distribution, cultivation and utilisation of Tecomella undulata are reviewed and recommendations made concerning areas of further research.
