Fault tolerant 92160 bit multiphase CCD memory

Abstract

A LARGE BLOCK-ORIENTED, fault tolerant, serial memory device containing 92160 bits will be discussed. A charge-coupled device memory is organized into 36 addressable blocks each containing 10 parallel 256 bit registers; Figure 1. A fault tolerant technique which allows the use of partially defective chips was utilized to enhance overall yield.
