A 60-year-old woman with prior right upper lobe lobectomy for adenocarcinoma of the lung was referred for a combined F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) imaging to evaluate an enlarging right cervical node. The F-18 FDG PET/CT images showed a level III nodular lesion with increased FDG uptake in the right neck region. Surgical excision was performed under the impression of metastases. Histopathologic evaluation, however, revealed a schwannoma.
