Abstract

When college persisters (23 Puerto Ricans, 61 blacks, 377 whites) and nonpersisters (20 Puerto Ricans, 36 blacks, and 91 whites) were compared by race on alienation and three of its components, powerlessness, normlessness, and social isolation, no significant differences were found.
