The pharmacokinetic effect of discontinuation of mesalazine on mercaptopurine metabolite levels in inflammatory bowel disease patients

Abstract

Mesalazine has synergistic effects on mercaptopurine therapy, but the mechanism is unclear. Combining these drugs may be further indication for mesalazine in inflammatory bowel disease treatment.
