Measuring surface variations with the scanning electron microscope using deposited contamination lines

Abstract

A technique is described using deposited contamination lines that makes the measurement of specimen surface variations with a scanning electron microscope a comparatively simple task. Scanning electron micrographs are presented demonstrating the application of the technique.
