AbstractAbstractThe National Society for Histotechnology created a Histopathology Productivity Task Force in response to numerous queries by Society members. These questions reflected a number of concerns related to various manager and technical staffing needs, reasonable work volumes and tasks produced by one full-time equivalent (FTE) in the various areas of histotechnology, and the need for a consistent and standardized method of workload recording. Sixteen laboratories participated in data collection for the initiation of a workload recording method that would examine many of these questions and offer recommendations.
