Phonon frequencies in xenon by inelastic neutron scattering

Abstract

Neutron scattering techniques have been used to measure phonon frequencies in two free-standing xenon crystals. Dispersion curves were obtained for phonons with wavevectors in the (111) direction at 4 and 77 K.
