A discrete velocity model is used to study the approach to equilibrium in a gas in which both binary and ternary collisions occur. It is found that an H-theorem can be shown for the three-particle collision term and that the equilibrium distribution is the analog for the model of the Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution.
