Abstract

Some of the nuclear properties of 39-min ${\mathrm{Au}}^{190}$ have been investigated with the atomic-beam magnetic-resonance method. We have obtained the result $I=1$ for the nuclear spin and $|\ensuremath{\Delta}\ensuremath{\nu}|=3105\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}425$ Mc/sec for the hyperfine-structure separation. Substitution of this $\ensuremath{\Delta}\ensuremath{\nu}$ and the known values of $\ensuremath{\Delta}\ensuremath{\nu}$ and $\ensuremath{\mu}$ for ${\mathrm{Au}}^{197}$ into the Fermi-Segr\`e formula yields a calculated magnetic dipole moment of $|{\ensuremath{\mu}}_{I}|=0.065$ nm.
