Influence of pressure on spectral intensities in a flowing nitrogen glow discharge

Abstract

Intensity measurements on the second positive and first negative systems were made in a flowing dc nitrogen discharge in order to study the dependence on gas pressure. Different populating mechanisms for the states and together with different excitation energy values for these states account for the experimental results.
