A Note on the Separation of Natural Mixtures of Bacterial Menaquinones using Reverse Phase Thin‐layer Chromatography

Abstract

Natural mixtures of bacterial menaquinones were separated according to the length and degree of saturation of the polyisoprenyl side‐chain using ready made Merck RP‐18F 254 reverse phase thin‐layer chromatography plates. The system described affords a simple and rapid means of menaquinone characterization.
