Modification of a P-Phenylenediamine Oxidase Method to Permit Non-Automated Ceruloplasmin Determinations in Batches of Rat Serum or Plasma Microsamples

Abstract

Abstract An essentially one-sample-at-a time p-phenylenediamine oxidase method was converted to a batch method by employing 0°C temperature during the serum or plasma sample preparation for incubation at 37°C. The samples were also amenable to a simple scale-down of all reaction mixture components, so that good results could be obtained with samples ranging down to 0.010 ml from the usual 0.100 ml. These two modifications should be applicable to most p-phenylenediamine oxidase ceruloplasmin methods.
