Isolation and Structure of Dolastatin 17

Abstract

The unusuai cyclodepsipeptide dolastatin 17 (1) was isolated from the Papua New Guinea sea hare Dolabella auricularfa and found to contain a new acetylenic p-amino acid designated dolayne (Doy).Dolastatin 17 exhibited significant human cancer cell growth inhibitory activity (GI,, 0.L5-0.74pg/mL range).
