Conformation De L'Acide 3‐(Aminocarboxymethyl) 2‐Pyrrolidone 5‐Carboxylique

Abstract

Abstract A new naturally occuring amino acid, isolated from the seeds of Pentaclethra Macrophylle was found to be l the 3‐(Aminocarboxymethyl) 2‐Pyrrolidone 5‐Carboxylic acid. The conformation of this amino acid in solution is determined from N. M. R. spectra and compared with the conformation in solid state. The absolute configuration is established through a comparative study of the results obtained by O. R. D., C.D. spectroscopy and X‐ray diffraction.
