Measurement of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance with Quadrupolar and Dipolar Broadening in Polycrystalline Samples

Abstract

The maxima for NMR lines in the presence of quadrupolar broadening in polycrystalline samples are shown to be shifted by the addition of dipolar broadening $\ensuremath{\sigma}$. A quantitative determination of this shift is given for a wide range of $\ensuremath{\sigma}$.
