Abstract

One third of the study population of the European Nimodipine Head Injury Trial showed signs of subarachnoid bleeding on an early first CT scan. These patients had a significantly worse outcome compared to patients whose CT scans did not show subarachnoid blood. The worse outcome correlated with the amount and location of blood.
